ZIP-based sun awning for glass roofs.

Design an awning that can be attached under or above the existing Lewens glass roofs with only using clicks. Unlike Lewens's existing Ancona, this new system must be fully ZIP-based, something that has never been implemented within a horizontal system. In addition to being attached to an existing construction, the screen must also be self-supporting on height-adjustable legs.

The Portofino is constructed from aluminum extrusion profiles, suitable for all kinds of different configurations for different situations. All parts can be clicked together without the use of tools, making the Portofino an attractive product for the installers in the field.

There are also buttons integrated in the wall cassette which expose the fabric roll from below. This allows the roll of fabric to get replaced without having to dismantle the entire frame. Due to the smart design of the aluminum profile of the cassette, LED lights can be slid in at the bottom for a cosy ambience at night. In short: a modular system that can be built up in no time.

The aluminum construction can support ZIP screens up to 30 m² without having to place extra support. All the above aspects ensure that the Portofino is modular, which makes it suitable for any terrace.
